Chlorophyll is found naturally in the following:
Spirulina-Supposedly the oldest living plant on earth, it is loaded with carotenoids, essential fatty acids and digestive enzymes. It is also the highest source of protein at 60% and a good source of Vitamin B12. It is sold in health food stores, natural pharmacies, etc. in powder, tablets and capsules.

Chlorella-Also an ancient algae, it is the richest source of chlorophyll, contains 50-60% protein, all eight amino acids, vitamins, minerals, fiber and nucleic acids DNA and RNA. A study published in 1987 in "Artery" showed that it lowered cholesterol (due to high omega-3 content). It is also a powerful chelating agent as it binds to toxic substances and forces them to leave the body. It has a unique ability to strengthen the immune system, called CGF chlorella growth factor, that enables it to stimulate the production of white blood cells.

Wheatgrass is another green that is juiced. It requires a special juicer and is a very strong detoxifier. Wheatgrass juice has also been used in cancer therapy, especially when radiation treatment is involved.

Green drinks and vegetable juices are potent fuel in maintaining good health, yet don't come burdened by the fats that accompany animal products. Some companies have added fruits to add other health benefits and make green drinks more palatable.

Herbal Remedies for Common Pregnancy Complainments

CRANBERRY FOR URINARY TRACT INFECTION. Cranberry juice - and the dried berries and extract - protect against infection by preventing bacteria from sticking to the bladder wall.
Dosage: If you use cranberry juice cocktail, drink at least three cups a day. If you use dried cranberries, munch on a handful or two a day. For commercial cranberry extract, follow the label directions.

Echinacea is an effective cold-fighting herb.

ECHINACEA FOR COLDS. The root and sometimes the aboveground portions of this daisylike flower have been shown to bolster the immune system and help the body fight colds. Some studies have shown no treatment benefit, but most show that echinacea minimizes cold symptoms and speeds recovery.
Dosage: Take the dosage recommended on the product label. Typical directions are to take it several times a day at first, and then taper off as you begin to feel better.
Cautions: A mildly upset stomach is possible with the tincture. Echinacea is safe for most people, but because it stimulates the immune system, it is not recommended for those with auto-immune diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and several others), or for transplanted-organ recipients.

GINGER FOR MOTION SICKNESS AND MORNING SICKNESS. Studies show that pregnant women who take ginger have significantly less nausea associated with morning sickness. Several studies show that the herb also wards off motion sickness. To keep motion sickness at bay, take a capsule containing 1,000 milligrams of powdered ginger root about an hour before you embark, and every two hours during your journey.
Dosage: Start with 1,000 milligrams. If that doesn't provide sufficient relief, try 1,500 milligrams.
Cautions: Some people report heartburn after taking ginger capsules. 


ST. JOHN'S WORT FOR DEPRESSION. While some studies suggest otherwise, the majority show that St. John's wort, in capsules or tablets, works as well as Prozac and Zoloft for relieving mild to moderate depression, and causes fewer side effects.
Dosage: Follow label directions. Studies showing benefits have used 600 to 1,800 milligrams/day. Most studies have used 900 milligrams/day.
Cautions: St. John's wort can cause an upset stomach, increases sensitivity to sunlight and reduces the effectiveness of birth control pills. If you take medication regularly, it's important to consult your physician or pharmacist before using St. John's wort.

Green Pharmacy for Earache

There are a number of herbs that can help alleviate the pain of
earache or treat the causes.

Echinacea (Echinacea, various species). Echinacea, also known as
coneflower, has both antibiotic and immune-boosting effects. You can
try using a teaspoon of dried herb in tea or a dropperful of
echinacea tincture in juice or tea. Drink either three times a day.
I use echinacea to treat all sorts of infections, and I would
probably try it if I had an earache. (Although echinacea can cause
your tongue to tingle or go numb temporarily, this effect is
harmless.)


Be Gentle with Eardrops

Warning: The essential oils of several of the herbs described in
this chapter can be dripped into the ears to help heal the
infections that cause earache. If a doctor has told you that your
eardrum has been perforated or you have any reason to suspect that
it has, do not use herbal eardrops.

Garlic (Allium sativum). Like echinacea, garlic and its extracts
have antibiotic and immune-boosting benefits. In studies, dripping
garlic oil directly into the ear canal has been shown to treat
fungal infections as well as or better than pharmaceutical drugs.

Taken internally, garlic can help cure a middle ear infection. If
you have an earache, I suggest adding more garlic to your cooking.
You might also try putting a few drops of garlic oil in the painful
ear.

Goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis). This is another potent natural
antibiotic. Some naturopaths suggest using a mixture of echinacea,
goldenseal and licorice root (this just for flavor). You can make a
tea using either a teaspoon of each herb or a dropperful of each
tincture per cup of boiling water. Enjoy a cup three times a day.

Although I don't have proof that this mixture is superior to either
echinacea or goldenseal alone, I suspect that the combination of
herbs is a better treatment.

Forsythia (Forsythia suspensa), gentian (Gentiana officinalis) and
honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica). All three of these herbs produce
antibiotic activity. Practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine
often prescribe them in powdered form, sprinkled on applesauce to
treat children's ear infections. I've had such good success with
this approach for colds and flu that I would also try it for
earache. They are easily used to make tea.

Mullein (Verbascum thapsus). Mullein flowers have many fans, and
I've decided that these people must be on to something. One British
herbalist suggests putting mullein flower oil drops in the affected
ear.

Peppermint (Mentha piperita). A number of herbalists suggest using
mints, which are antiseptic, to relieve earache. To me, peppermint
sounds most promising, because it contains menthol. I would suggest
using it as a tea.

Teatree (Melaleuca, various species). Aromatherapists and many
herbalists consider teatree oil a significant antiseptic when
applied to the skin. Try mixing a few drops in vegetable oil to make
eardrops. Just don't use the drops if there is a possibility that
the eardrum has been perforated, and don't take teatree oil, or any
essential oil, internally. The oils are extremely concentrated, and
even small quantities of many of them can be poisonous. I've also
heard one anecdotal reference to problems arising from using teatree
oil in the ear, so just to be on the safe side, discontinue use if
you experience any irritation.

But what can you do if you choose, for one reason or another, not to eat fish? You can get some omega-3s in expeller pressed canola oil, the only common vegetable oil that contains them.

A much richer source is flax oil. Flax oil is pressed from the seeds of Linum utilitatissimum, the source of linen fiber and an oil better known in this country as linseed oil, the base for oil paints.

Linseed oil is usually classified as a "drying oil" rather than a food oil because its chemical characteristics cause it to combine readily with oxygen and become thick and hard. This tendency to harden on exposure to air quickly turns linseed oil rancid and unfit to eat, but makes it useful as a vehicle for pigment on canvas. (The word "canvas" by the way is a relative of "Cannabis," because true canvas is made from hemp fiber.)

For dietary purposes flax oil must be pressed at low temperatures, protected from light, heat, and air, stored at cool temperatures, and used quickly once the containers are opened. Most flax oil is not delicious. There is great variation in taste among the brands currently sold in natural food stores, but the best of them still leaves much to be desired.

I have been recommending flax oil as a dietary supplement to patients with autoimmune disorders, arthritis, and other inflammatory conditions, but about half of them cannot tolerate it. Some say it makes them gag, even when concealed in salad dressing or mashed into a baked potato. These people have to resort to taking flax oil capsules, which are large and expensive.

Udo Erasmus, author of the classic book, Fats and Oils (Alive, 1986), [and Fats that Heal, Fats that Kill, The Complete Guide to fats, oils, cholesterol and human health, Second Printing of Fats and Oils, (Alive, 1996). This book is a fabulous resource on nutrition --ratitor] says that the problem is freshness. Unless you get flax oil right from the processor and freeze it until you start using it, it will already have deteriorated by the time you buy it. Hemp oil contains more EFAs than flax and actually tastes good. It is nutty and free from the objectionable undertones of flax oil. I use it on salads, baked potatoes, and other foods and would not consider putting it in capsules.

Like flax oil, hemp oil should be stored in the refrigerator, used quickly, and never heated. Unlike flax oil, hemp oil also provides 1.7% gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). There is controversy about the value of adding this fatty acid to the diet, but many people take supplements of it in the form of capsules of evening primrose oil, black currant oil, and borage oil. My experience is that it simulates growth of hair and nails, improves the health of the skin, and can reduce inflammation. I like the idea of having one good oil that supplies both omega-3s and GLA, without the need to take more capsules.

One of the questions that people are sure to ask about hemp oil is whether it has any psychoactivity. The answer is no. The intoxicating properties of Cannabis sativa reside in a sticky resin produced most abundantly in the flowering tops of female plants before the seeds mature. The main psychoactive compound in this resin is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

  • The natural human biorhythm is to sleep between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. This means you should be in bed, with the lights out, by 10 p.m. and be up by 6 a.m. If this is difficult for you, keep in mind that people naturally followed this pattern before the advent of electricity. When the time switches in two weeks ideally you should be in bed by 9 PM since this is equal to 10 p.m. prior to the time switch.

  • Decrease your mental activity after dinner. Journaling may help in this process by allowing you to put your anxieties on paper and get them out of your mind.

  • Make preparations for the next day, such as determining what you’d like to accomplish, so you don’t have to think about it.

  • Take a hot bath for up to an hour with calming fragrances (lavender, vanilla, sandalwood) 30 minutes before bedtime. Use the bath to let go of your daily stress, include soothing lights and music and massage your body with oils.

  • Use your bed for sleep and sex only. Even reading should be done elsewhere, unless it has a calming effect, such as spiritual literature.

  • Turn all lights off. Lie on your back and focus on they way your body feels (your mind-body awareness) and on your breathing.

  • Try reciting a prayer for five minutes. This could be some sort of favorite reading/spiritual song or prayer that you recite continuously.

  • Something warm, like a hot water bottle, may help soothe your anxieties, especially when placed between the navel and bottom of rib cage.

  • If you wake during the night, try repeating some of the techniques above or massaging your head or feet.

  • If you find it difficult to sleep in your bed, pick another area of the house to sleep in.

Ten Reasons to Throw out your Microwave Oven

From the conclusions of the Swiss, Russian and German scientific clinical studies, we can no longer ignore the microwave oven sitting in our kitchens. Based on this research, we will conclude this article with the following:

1). Continually eating food processed from a microwave oven causes long term - permanent - brain damage by "shorting out" electrical impulses in the brain [de-polarizing or de-magnetizing the brain tissue].

10). Eating microwaved food causes loss of memory, concentration, emotional instability, and a decrease of intelligence.

After you throw out your microwave you can use a toaster oven as a replacement. It works well for most and is nearly as quick.

The use of artificial microwave transmissions for subliminal psychological control, a.k.a. "brainwashing", has also been proven. Omega 3/Omega 6

 

I strongly recommend avoiding sunflower, corn, soy, safflower, canola, or products that contain these oils. That is no hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fats, no margarine, no vegetable oil, no shortening. These oils are chock full of omega-6 fats and will only worsen your omega 6:omega 3 ratio.

Acceptable oils will be a high quality extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, avocados, and organic butter, or better yet grass-fed organic butter.

Another way to improve your omega 6:3 ratio is to change the type of meat you are eating. You could consume more game meat like venison, or other game animals that are raised exclusively on grass type foods. However, these are hard to find and generally more expensive than beef.

Since nearly all cattle are grain fed before slaughter, if you eat most traditionally raised beef, it will typically worsen you omega 6:omega 3 ratio.

Normally a good ratio for omega 6:3 in fish is 2 or 3 to 1. The lower the better. Grassfed beef from Grassfed Organics is much higher in Omega 3 than fish, with a 6:3 ratio of 0.16 to 1. This information is from a study done at Iowa State University in August 2001.

My 10 Ways to eliminate Asthma & Allergies

I have been battling asthma for 3 years since the pregnancy of my third child. I spent the last three years researching asthma to find a cure.

As it is written when our soul is not right with the Father the true Living Creator YHWH, we are punished.

1. I needed to go thru some stuff to be lead on the true path... to the true Creator of all things, YHWH. I needed to recognize Yahoshua as the real true messiah. Live righteously. Everyday is a journey. Do not give up!

2. Find out what your allergic to. Most common thing is dust mites, dust, pollen, environmental and also food allergies also. Keep a food journal and you can most likely figure it out on your own.

3. Get allergy covers for your pillows and mattresses. Extremely Important!!! I cannot stress this enough. Hard wood floors if possible. Perhaps, if possible no animals. Eliminate stuffed animals, dolls, things that collect dust. Couches, cushions, chairs. We have a vinyl couch that you can wipe down. It's retro looking and allergy free!

4. Once you get to eliminating the environmental, now focus on your physiological overresponsive immune system.

5. Increase your Vitamin C daily dosage. This eliminate's sneezing and itchiness, boosts immune system, get sick less,and anti-aging. I highly recommend Emergen-C, great for kids also. It's a powder pack just drop in some water.

6. Allergy pill from health food store containing Nettles and quercitin. This is for all year round allergies and seasonal. Prevents that dizziness, sneezing, headaches, watery eyes, itching, etc.

7. For seasonal allergies when you need some extra help, homeopathic nasal spray with butterbur.

8. Asthma stems from allergies. Here is my asthma story.

We moved to the city. We lived on the 3rd floor of an old building. There were pigeons tons of pigeons living in our roof. Their were mice, they liked our apartment because we had no cat. The second floor tenant had 5 big hairy dogs and two cats. The hallways were filled with dog hair, cat hair, and animal dander. The paint was chipping off the walls in the hallways. Last but not least, the city decided to rehab 11 abandoned buildings on the street around the corner. They gutted them and rebuilt them. There were plumes of dust in the air.

I had allergies growing up. They came and went. I had success over the years using nettles and quercitin with little research on the subject.I was also a vegetarian and my main source of protein was dairy.

My pregnant self as well as my two boys were diagnosed with asthma. I was devasted. "What do you mean? How,Why? No one could explain. How could we figure out a cure if no one knew how or why asthma occurs. I had so much mucous in my chest that I slept sitting up for fear of choking in my sleep. I could not get rid of the mucous. I was put on advair, albuterol, and an additional inhaler to dry up the mucous in my chest. This was such a horrifying dis-ease becasue I loathe medicine. I hate any medicine that is not natural. I was on so much medicine and this greatly effected me emotionally because I worried about the baby I carried. I began to develop anxiety episodes.

Today, HalleluYAH, I am prescription FREE!!! I am currently working on my son. He is seven and has had nasal allergies(rhinitis) severe for years. As well, as asthma. He has rarely used the nebulizer and thankfully we have never had asthma attacks. I do not know what they are. Our asthma has been very well managed. During the winter months my children get at least one bad virus which causes Bronchitis and last year pneumonia. I was told by the Pharmacist in my area that sells this, you can take this along with your inhalers until you nolonger need your inhalers. Personally, I took 3-4 a day every couple of hours. I also took the calcium magnesium. It is very important to learn what vitamin deficincies we have in our diet as these lead to dis-eases. Calcium-magnesium combo is key in asthma because it relaxes the lung muscles.

I have also taken both brands of the respiratory medicine.The respir-aid has been my regular and its less expensive. I also listed additional products that can support. I am a huge fan of homeopathy and find it very effective, especially for children and babies.

In terms of diet, I would add Omega 3's. My Aunt from the Caribbean suggested making like a 7 oil combo as she stated she gave her daughter this at a young age. She has no asthma. It seems everyone in the Cariibean takes cod liver oil anyways. I like and/or:

1.olive oil

2.hemp oil

3.flax oil

4.cod liver oil(for winter months for Vit D, summer take fish oil)

5.salmon oil

It is important to have at least one oil in your daily diet. Lastly, eliminate ALL dairy! Caesin, casinate, cow milk, cheese, anything processed with milk or cheese.Dairy causes so much mucous in your lungs and organs. Dangers of dairy. If you are diligent and check all labels and consciously eliminate all dairy, including pizza, you will notice a drastic reduction if not, elimination with your asthma.
